@martincrotty

I see a very common misconception so often that global warming just means everywhere will get warmer, especially by people who haven't much interest in the field.
It's far more important to grasp that heat is a form of energy, and when you supply a system that's in a semi stable equilibrium a huge amount of added heat, it and the many complex systems that dissipate that energy are going to alter considerably, especially when that influx of new energy is added at a rate that's far faster than the usual background rate like with natural factors and processes. That's where we are now.

@audc5053

The best analogy I’ve heard was during my climate change class. She said the hot air shooting up from all directions makes the air up there spin like a top (or a beyblade or a dreidel) and that spinning keeps the cold air in. Now that the temperature difference is lessening, there’s less force spinning the top, so it’s slowing down. Picture what happens when a top slows down, first it starts to wobble more and more. Some of the weather events we’re seeing right now, often called “polar vortex shifts” on the weather channels, are a result of that wobbling. We’re seeing polar air escaping the vortex and it briefly makes places super cold. That’s a WEATHER event, temporary and brief, but a CLIMATE level event for example could be if that vortex stops having the energy to spin altogether. It would mean permanent and drastic warming up there and very erratic weather down here.

@phil9406

That’s way one shouldn’t say global warming but rather climate change…

@yinnky

Vortexes????

@mr.e212

Its going to get worse these 3 yesrs and 11 months

@geekdiggy

yeah will, the red hat people told me this is all a hoax, so, i'm not worried.

@mushuable

Trump voters will hate this

@CayoBuay

Why we are not going to bet had but rather colder in the end, maybe even a mini ice age.

The ocean currents are no longer working the way they ahould because more cold water is being pulled from the pole into the Atlantic where it's not warming up the way it should so the atream weakens.

Great video and data, makes it easy for the layperson to understand.

@Hungryghost01

Thought the title said Warhammer 40k

@Marcoplo

Snowball Earth by 2070.

@AlphaGeekgirl

Vortices NOT vortexes :-(

@seanpetersen5960

Ice Age!!! ……. That’s also the name from Trumps term in office. If you know, you know.

@martinfortune9988

Blah blah blah

@bluewolf4915

wow, you showed us were still recovering from the last ice age. It can't be stopped and it's NOT manmade.
