@LizardYup

It won't happen. Reform supporters would be massively disappointed and the reform party simply don't need it.

@jamespaul8081

Conform, a fitting name.

@Matthew-bu7fg

i don't understand why this is even a thing and why journalists are entertaining it? Reform's polling figures and populism is due to them being a disruptor, being something different from Labour/Tory. Why would they even discuss merging? It would kill their brand.

@JottoHearthStone

The issue with moving right is that it's only 1 part of 3 major reasons why Reform exists:
1. the argument the Tories aren't right wing enough
2. The perceived complete lack of competence of the Tories, who keep saying they would lower immigration etc and just... did the opposite.
3. One of Reforms key policies and reasons to exist is to well... REFORM... the electoral system as a lot of people feel ignored and forgotten.

In other words, Badenoch is only addressing the easiest of the 3 problems the tories face by moving right.

@ricequackers

There is zero incentive for Reform to consider a merger considering their current polling and momentum, and they'd rather push for abolishing FPTP than work around it. And the issue with the Tories isn't that they weren't right-wing enough, it's that they were horrifically incompetent and fundamentally untrustworthy (though Labour is giving them stiff competition in this regard).

@warwicks2780

This is so establishment. Why not push for electoral reform instead of maintaining the least representative democracy in the modern world?

@ABTrainsYT

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!

NO MERGER!!!

@whitesky38

THERE IS NO MERGE. AND NO CHANCE OF THERE EVER BEEING A MERGE. There saved you 9 precious minutes of your life.

@ganrimmonim

I can see it might look tempting, but I think it would be disastrous for both.

@mr.netflix9149

Reform is popular because they present as a counterweight to the establishment. Becoming part of an established party would probably alienate most Reform voters.

@CableB_

This is why UK needs PR

@martinh8784

The reason that the Tories are in such a poor state is that Johnson purged every last Tory Grandee who was not firmly in his Loonie Tunes camp. Today's Tory party is not a shadow of itself, it is a rotting biomass and Johnson did the deed. As long as they chase the lunatic fringe, there is no hope of recovery.

@crusher465

This would kill the reform vote. The whole point is they are not Tories and they are not Labour.

@robturvey9156

There is zero reason for Reform to consider anything at this point other than continue their growth in membership and in the polls. There are most likely four more years to the election and huge changes are highly likely in such volatile times.

@notquiteatory971

The reformed conservative party sounds like the Conservatives just finished a prison sentence.

@Anon-y-mouse

If they merge, I will not vote for them. The amount fo broken promises from Cons have stacked so high they are unforgivable, no matter what they say.

@TSC777

farage already said reform will not merge

@funghi2606

I really don’t understand all this British panic for bad polling. The election happened less than a year ago, the conservative ruled for 12 years and now are in the opposition, that it. It’s not like because for the first time Reform is polling well is the end of the world or it’s guaranteed that they will keep it that way. Just wait an year or two and then panic

@sheldon5859

The party of Churchill and thatcher is dead

@dindul3843

If reform merge they would be giving up on their main principle that they named their party for to well... reform the electoral system
