@RonCobb-co6dr

We many owe soo much to these few men, may they never be forgotten. 🙏🇺🇸

@jdmmike7225

I am originally from Stratford CT where the F4U Corsair was originally test flown and built by Vought. My great grandmother, Grandma Valko, worked at the Pratt & Whitney engine plant across the street from the airfield they tested at which became Sikorsky Airport. Through out my childhood my late father would always bring my brothers and I to "Corsairs Over Connecticut" and we would get to see so many awesome aircraft like B-17's, Chinooks, Harriers, F-105 Starfighter & many more. I even got to take a flight in a T-6 Texan trainer while the Corsairs were putting on a mock dogfight. One of the coolest experiences in my life. Great video gents 🤘

@BobVeldkamp-l9l

One of the first revell models I built it as a young boy 60 years ago....brings back memories

@jayledermann7701

The coolest and best all around fighter of WW2 in my opinion.

@Lonnie-bb5ok

Thank you for service, men like you is the fiber of America, I'm an rc pilot n I love the Corsair, the model is as tricky as the big boy ,but I love that bird 😊

@SGTGHOST143

Fell in love with this aircraft and it became my number one favorite aircraft. Theres just something about the F4U Corsair

@Lonnie-bb5ok

From Midwest , southern Illinois, go to see the war birds every time the Confederate air Force comes through ,love the war birds ,what a great life you have , memories of value,😕

@patricklarsh7063

I built a 1/48 scale model when I was a kid before I knew about Black Sheep Squadron. It was mint. I ended up giving it to a mentally challenged kid who watched the show all the time. I loved it more than I did

@albertmanzo9510

A masterpiece of aviation engineering 🏆

@Chiyomi_Anzai599

I love this Plen, im so glad I bought a 1/72 die-cast scale of it. It looks good next to my 1/72 die-cast scale MiG-15.

F4U
P-51 are my favorite planes. But the F6F is starting to grow on me just a bit. ❤

@71Habu

It was amazing to me how many extremely successful WWII aircraft were built and ran with the Pratt-Whitney R2800 engine. The Corsair, Thunderbolt, BlackWidow, Hellcat, Bearcat, and Tigercat. How many engines did Pratt-Whitney produce during and after the war? Don’t forget not only the production aircraft, but many replacement engines sent to the fronts to replace engines on existing aircraft. Reports of Thunderbolts returning with pistons pumping but no cylinder there. Running on virtually no oil. Propeller shot up. Damages that were legendary, but they kept on running. This was one of the reasons aircraft equipped with these radials were so successful.
Despite what the video says or implies, Navy fighters were a lot more rugged than Airforce because of their landing requirements. Same is true today.

@SSO1025RET

One of my top five World War II war birds.

@docholidayoutlaws104

What a way to learn how to fly as a pilot , let alone training as a fighter pilot . I would love to learn how to fly in one of these Corsairs Fighter planes !

@petercarlsen5337

The guys at North Queensland Warbirds ( Mareeba) completed a rebuild of an Corsair F4U-1D last year and it has since been sold for $3.400.000. Another bent wing bird takes to sky once again. Sadly i never got to see this plane before it was sold, but i can see video's of it here on U-Tube.

@smartbomb7202

wow ...the corsair saw action on Guadalcanal in february of 1941...9 months before pear harbor...that was quite a trick!

@martinarreguy2984

The Whistling Death was known by the Japanese pilot, well known! I built a 1/32 plastic scale model by Revelle as a young lad in 1972, when young lads had real hobbies and not their fingers stuck on a cellular phone.

@KlintonWyont

I've had several remote control airplane models of this and it's a real handful to fly😊😊

@mikelathrop6584

Vought like all manufacturers has to have failures,as a mechanic on f8 migmasters, I'm telling you they made some kickass planes

@paulcarter2663

WW 2 was a nasty brutal nightmare but it birthed some of the most beautiful and powerful war planes to ever fly and fight and die in the skies of this planet. The f4u and her sisters will always be a mark for all future planes to be measured against.
