Yeah looks like a good change to me. The main problem here is that the AI turrets barely shoot back. Turrets are extremely strong when manned. Also cargo ships should have escorts.

If crewed by players, the turrets would have melted the fighter long ago.

I have no doubt this will be balanced, the caterpillar is still a pinata as far as protection goes, but this is an improvement.

Not a big fan of the recharge delay for s3 shields it used to be the special thing that s3 shields could do was the constant regen it was logical that a ship of that size would be able to regen a shield faster than the damage output of a single fighter.

Wow it seems its easier to down two size 3 shields in 3.14 on caterpillar vs one size 3 in 3.13? Usually could not break the regen

Shields are crap because there is a regen damage delay similar to a s1 shields previously. But the health of all large ships have been buffed alot. Try taking down a Connie andromeda
