This song is one of my favorite songs by the Crests. I have all of their records. The Crests are legends of the 1950's and early 1960's. They are true doowop artists.
What a time it was. I have never forgoten any of it and hope I never will. Long live the 50-60's.
Great photos!!!!
All of us JM. fans are sad but he will be with us in voice forever. The CRESTS stuff was tops in my oldies list--codolences to his family & friends---lucky to be around such a star---Bruce in Oregon
Born in 95 but I have parents that experienced it and I loved hearing all of the stories the musicians. LONG LIVE OLDIES.

Thanks Johnny!!!! The Crests and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was your talent that made both groups. Both extremely successful. We need to remember you at this time, (2022), as an important piece of American musical history. What a time your talent gave us. Thanks!!!

Johnny - thanks for all the great music and great memories. You helped to make the 50s and 60s special.
"Step by Step" by The Crests Step by step I fell in love with you And step by step it wasn't hard to do Kiss by kiss and hand in hand That's the way it all began Soon we found the perfect plan for love Side by side we took a lovers walk Word by word we had a lover's talk One word led to another and then Then in no time we're up to ten My heart knew it was gonna end in love 1st step, a sweet hello 2nd step, my heart's aglow 3rd step, we had a date 4th step, we stayed up late 5th step, I walk you home 6th step, we're all alone 7th step, we took a chance One kiss and true romance Step by step we climbed to heaven's door Step by step, each thrill invited more Then you promised faithfully All your love belonged to me Now I know we'll always be in love Step, step. Step, step. Step, step. Step step
@ciddler I was 15 when this was released. I used to sing with local doo-wop groups then, and as much Johnny Maestro as possible! I don't want all aspects of that time back either, but I want the music and I want my friends. So many gone now.
My teacher is almost 70 and he plays this song everyday in class im only 9 and love this song
I was born in the fall of '49 and I remember the 50s with no problem. My mother would say "You're to young to listen to that music" but I didn't care. I enjoyed Elvis, Bandstand, etc. with my brother who 8 yrs older. I'm glad I "lived" the 50s, as they were great. My oldest brother had a new "Edsel" & it was a beautiful car. Only problem I remember was having to wear dresses to school in the cold winter & I wore pants under them & took them off when I got to school.
Great Blast From The Past !!!!!! Great Rock And Roll Will Never Die !!!!!! Very Nice Video Thank You Very Much For The Upload !!!!!!
I remember these songs like it was yesterday. I am noe realizing how old I am. All my teen idols are slowly fading away. There will never be sinfers and song writers like this again. Who can fill their shoes. This brings a tyear to my eyes when I just sit here and reflect when times were good.
I am 29, but grew up listening to the sweet sounds of doo-wop thanks to my awesome father. I wish I had lived then. Everything seemed so simple! :D
Thank you Johnny, there are singers and there are performers, and Johnny you were both...I will be playing your 16 Candles for my granddaughter in a couple of months. You touched 3 generations in my home.. I will never forget you..
