@nandanupadhyay

Hello everyone, my name is Nandan, and I am the guide in this video. I noticed in the comments that my commentary is not clear to some people regarding the time cycle of the festival.

The Kumbh Mela follows a 12-year cycle and occurs every fourth year at a different location in rotation among the four sacred sites:

1. Prayagraj – Confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati

2. Haridwar – Banks of the Ganga River

3. Ujjain – Banks of the Shipra River

4. Nashik – Banks of the Godavari River

Kumbh Mela Rotation Cycle

Every 12 years: A full Purna Kumbh Mela is held at each of the four locations.

Every 6 years: An Ardh Kumbh Mela takes place in Prayagraj and Haridwar.

Every 144 years: A Maha Kumbh Mela is held only in Prayagraj.

Every year: A smaller Magh Mela (Mini Kumbh) is held in Prayagraj.

Thus, every 4 years, a Kumbh Mela is celebrated at one of the four locations in rotation.

Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj is celebrated approximately 3 years after Kumbh at Haridwar and 3 years before Kumbh at Nashik and Ujjain (both of which are celebrated in the same year or one year apart - with Ujjain Mela occurring after Nashik).

@theslayer794

Mate, you're a good guy unlike many other Western youtubers who don't leave any opportunity to disparage India and Indians.

@sup793

over 450 million people in 45 days yet it's going peacefully. that's the speciality of spirituality

@vs9324

What is amazing is that both men and women, in millions, are taking bath in the river together and the women are feeling safe in doing it.

@ns100ful

Scientific explanation of Hindu religion.many many thanks.

@natalieoleary9182

I also went this year…what an experience. The logistics of the event alone blew my mind. I was only going to go for 2 days but ended up staying a week and I hardly slept, I didn’t want to miss a second of it. It is something I am truly grateful that I was able to attend.

@AMBLOG07

If you are still in India must go to north east India its name Mawlynnong, a village in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, India, has been recognized as Asia’s cleanest village since 2003. How beautifully he described the churning of the mental ocean.
This churning brings out everything from poison to nectar and it's a tussle between positive and negative energies

@SudhakaranRamankutty

It is amazing that without anybodies guidance, people themself conducting rituals. Nowhere in the planet earth can conduct such huge rituals. As people are self disciplined, no unwanted activities, only spirituality guided millions activity. 🌹🙏🙏🙏

@ARCPA1040

I am located in Bangalore which is a 1000+ kilometers away from the Varanasi and Prayagraj where the Kumbh is happening. Thank you Chris for showcasing from on the ground what the festival is like! You have my immense gratitude 🙏🏻 🙏🏻Thanks also for providing the details of your tour guide. I would like to visit the Kumbh and I will contact him.

@deepjaggi7

Chris the best moment from this video was wherein you showed one guy cleaning the immersed flowers from the river bank and took time to appreciate the effort. On the contrary, i have many you tubers from India highlighting the mismanagement & dirt. I personally spent 4 days there in 2019 & 2025 as well ... the festival is really well managed. thanks again for reflecting positive vibes ...

@BrianStDenis-pj1tq

India is just so very different. And, one thing I see is that millions of people live in wildly varying styles, incomes, etc, and exist mostly peacefully. There are some things to the Indian culture that the west could learn from.

@ehaSingh

Hey Chris, thankyou for showcasing beauty of my country. Not like other foreign youtubers, who just want to defame India for views or whatever. Thanks a lot.
As you said there is something about food here. Indians believe in sharing and donating food. Its one of the biggest ‘mahadaan’ (bigeest donation) in our culture. I hope you’ll love every colour of our lovely beautiful Bharat.🇮🇳

@hiDhaval

This is going to be a case study for Management prowess and Execution efficiency .. handling event of such grand scale.
Feeling blessed and privileged to visit the Maha Kumbh and take holy dip / snaan myself !
and was Awestruck to see the grandeur of Kumbh City, cleanliness, piped water supply, 24x7 power, crowd that was so well behaved and disciplined, Police / security personnel that too were so helpful and friendly!

@fukun001

The beauty of this festival and Hinduism is that no one force you to do anything. People take pleasure in helping others.

@IAmRavi21
