I cant articulate way, but you give me the vibes of someone you would see in the parking lot of a Denny's at 3am.
You don't know who Matthias is unless you know Matthias. At the time when his channels were at their highest, his heart and his mental health were at their lowest. Things changed and we should be grateful for all the good memories we had with these channels
1:57 did you just confuse Ryan Higa and Zach King😳
I think the downfall started when Matthias became too ambitious. Other than his viewers already grown up, he created too many channles. He even created that reality things channel that I think just for his ego ( he started thinking he is genius writers) Other than that, he's become too obsessed with viewers and revenue I know it's business but I think he started to lose the fun element
Honestly, I just miss Amanda's vlog channel. She never seemed to be hunting down the next big thing nor did she try to rebrand herself ever 6 months. She was just herself. Matthias just never seemed content.
His best videos were the really old ones on the og Matthias channel, reading your comments, and old team edge videos. After a certain point, it became very corporate and it was easy to see long before the end where things were going
I don't consider Mathew to be a YouTube failure. Someone who can get millions of subscribers on multiple channels is pretty opposite of failing. I think a failing YouTuber is someone who can't get any subscribers.
This video is cool and all and I definitely feel like his fall/ending of his channels. But this video has multiple holes. In it
That’s the vine logo not Vimeo
this vid is so inaccurate. these channels didnt "fail" they all were incredibly successful but eventually met their end. 863 going big is wut kinda changed things, that and miscommunication. that caused people to either leave or get laid off. its sad that it all happened so fast especially cuz i loveddd gggaming.
Dude don't judge Mathias so harshly we all have are low moments and a certiant virus playing a role in some mental health declines its only a matter of time that you just need to take a break from things life is all ups and downs and we should be thankful that we had those fun moments with his channels and not bash him for being human and needing to take a break we all need a break sometimes.
The real downfall happened when tanner left tbh
I know most see Matt as a cringey guy who fell off really quickly, but he genuinely made me who I am. I continue to watch him just because I enjoy who he is, and I don't think anything can change that. I'd also like to add that in the video you mentioned where he said that Christ led him to the decision to close it down, it was also because of a leading health issue (that he believes is late-stage Lyme disease) that brought him to that decision. Also, currently he says "Spellbound (hi-5) is still a business entity, but the studio is not." It is just him and Samantha Fekete for the time being, working on storytelling through Minecraft or other means. His last video as of now was a minecraft playthrough where he answered questions, but he has appeared on a few live streams with his friends Artemis Arrow, Sroxah, Squatting Buffalo, and others.
The reason it failed is because he refused advice from not only his fans but his peers too. Its also the reason mark stopped working with him he never reached his full potential.
The man ruined a bunch of staff members' lives every couple of months..... It was really sad to watch
Sooo when should we start taking all the videos and re-upload them on hi5 archives
Sure, Matthias became kind of a big risk taker and jumped so quickly on so many crucial decisions, but give the guy some slack. The way you talked about him and his channels sounded so hateful and it feels like you did not dig deep enough. Sure, the channels he had had fallen down, many talented people left, there's a time where everything seems like a mess, but to paint him as someone negatively like this? Like a boss who doesn't know what to do, is not right. He still cared, he wanted to do a lot of things at the same time (maybe connected to him having ADHD and Autism idk), that made him have this HUGE creative drive. Yet he had to let go some stuff for his own health, just like what he said on his new upload today. Don't be too harsh.
I watched the ARG and at first it seemed real but then it was obvious it was staged :D All in all it was entertaining :)
He had great success on YouTube, things dont last forever. He grew up and wants to be with his family now plus he's well off now because of his success on YouTube so no he's not a failure bro 🤣
