I'm most upset that I can't abbreviate Magic: The Gathering anymore.
"Do you represent science?" kind of is more complicated than a "yes or no" question because the word "represent" has more than one connotation.
The reason that harassment of scientists is increasing as our COVID mitigation efforts continue to recede should be obvious to anybody who was bullied as a child: Backing off does NOT signal to a bully, "Oh, hey, we won, we can stop now." It signals to them, "Hey, it's working, we're getting results, this is an avenue we should pursue even FURTHER."
I looked it up and there's a lab near to where I originated. I think we all know what that means.
It's so amazing that the US state of Georgia decided that the best use of one of its House seats was to have someone shout incendiary gibberish where she couldn't be talked back to.
i wish there was someone to say "maam that question doesnt make sense. please rephrase it or dont ask it" or "please tell us the source you are basing these claims on" kind of like a judge might in a courtroom, but im sure that position would be misused. it just feels like its needed for stuff like this and the tiktok hearing.
That money is also just a fraction of what what Bezos would owe in taxes if we just undid Reaganomics.
We are weeks away from a doctor being burned as a witch.
"Americans don't pay their taxes for animals to be tortured like this." I think Kristi Noem might disagree.
In early 2020 my step mother had surgery on her ankle. She'd been in a wheel chair for months before her surgery, and her doctor said her prognosis was excellent, her physical therapy was just beginning, but she was going to be able to walk again in a few weeks. While she recovered from surgery, she lived in a care home, being cared for by nurses who, despite their medical training, listened to trump, refused to wear masks and scoffed at protocols to protect their patients from the pandemic. They partied in large gatherings, no masks, no precautions. They caught covid and passed it around to each other and their families. They brought it into the care home. Dozens of residents and staff got sick. 13 residents died. My step mom was one of them. She was two weeks on a respirator before her heart gave out. My father, who had loved her for over 50 years, had to stand outside her room, on the other side of a glass door. He couldn't be with her to comfort her, to say goodbye. He had to watch her die alone. Donald trump murdered my step mom and took my father's love away from him. He took so many people's loves away from them. You said we can't point to a single person as the cause of the pandemic. I point at donald trump. Murderer. He may not have originated it. It would have happened anyway. But it didn't have to be what it is. What it STILL IS. The damage is irreparable now. HE did this to us.
You know, I've always worried that I would say something and everyone around me would think I was crazy/an idiot, but this woman blurts out something like this in congress, being recorded and its clear she's never dealt with that particular anxiety.🤨
Hi Rebecca, I live in New Zealand. It has been shocking and dismaying to see how public health officials, including Siouxsie, have been pilloried over just trying to do the right thing. Our country had objectively and measurably better outcomes managing COVID 19 than most. Thanks for shining a light in the darkness!
Congresspeople should not be allowed to harass private citizens and hide behind the speech and debate clause. Congress is not a law-enforcement agency with plenipotentiary powers to investigate anything and everything.
Oh my god that MTG Fauci clip is LITERALLY the Limmy's show "Yes or no?" sketch, life imitates art
Republicans weren't wasting their time yelling at Fauci. They were campaigning
I must have missed the scolding hot criticism from MTG with regards to Kristi Noem killing her dog and then bragging about it in her book.
we're the same species that would burn women for having clean medical practices, and this was less than 300 years ago. I think we've just grown too fast technologically while leaving waves of people behind socially. An almost impossible conundrum that can only be solved with time.
Even if the lab leak theory was correct, it still wouldn't absolve Trump of his horrendous handling of the pandemic.
As an infection prevention nurse in a state that just brought measles back from a 5+ year hiatus I can attest to the impact of the mistrust of science.
