@2exiw

You told the story. Perfectly. Tesla is the problem. With Tesla. After the car gets black listed. It might as well be parts. For the next ev swap ๐Ÿ˜‚.

@coty7.3

Tesla should buy back the wrecked ones and rebuild them and sell them as refurbished at a cheaper price

@joshuaboehm6419

If Tesla would support the rebuilding of them, I'm sure they move much better. I love my racecars, and 4x4 rigs, but I think a Tesla would be a pretty rad daily.

@allq7138

Nice job Tesla being so Wonderful for the environment. Because of your unfriendliness towards rebuilt vehicles.

@Hickeroar

They're highly recyclable, but barely repairable. In a way, that's not that unusual. All the mid-range cars out now face the same thing. No one is going to do a big rebuild project on a $30-50k (new) Honda or Toyota. They end up in this same situation.

@mjc8248

If tesla would support the rebuilt models, they would move. Without any support, they're worthless. I'd buy one in a heartbeat because I'm in it for the tech. Idgaf about the environmental concerns, and I'm not going to pretend I do. I'm currently diving a Rivian R1S adventure quad motor, and even though it's a loaner while I wait on my new car, I definitely enjoy it. I can't afford a new ev, but a rebuilt one is attainable.

@U.S_Drifter

Some of those donโ€™t even look that bad tbh

@bobpayne666

Once an EV is in an accident, the battery is supposed to be replaced due to possibility of damage that could it to electrify everyone inside or blowup/catch fire.

The cost involved in replacing the battery is near the price of the whole car, therefore they are often totaled.

Best upgrade, make a new frame and run a gas engine

@georgespalding7640

In case anybody doesn't understand this it's partly due to the high cost of replacement parts that can only be bought from Tesla and also the electrical system has to be rebuilt back to factory specs and Tesla won't approve the rebuild unless it's from Tesla mechanics. Also most people are just afraid of a salvaged Electric car. The resale value of one of these would be about half of a normal car. Musk could do something about this but he doesn't seem to care.

@ChasL704

Looks like a great business opportunity.

@BuzzWinkle77

You would think Tesla would be buying them back in bulk at cheap prices and using them

@UsuallyCully

The only problem is technology is not advanced enough to make EV's viable. We can barely make reliable bikes and scooters that are electric. But EV cars right now are just not worth it. I even have more faith on fuel cells tbh.
They also claim it's for the environment, but what about all that Lithium that they are mining and using for the batteries? It doesn't even outweigh the cons...

@maxwellnjabulo5508

Damn they are so many I thought the video is looping

@JoseRivera-ym3wj

I see a market for electric crate motors and EV conversions. The right engineers and talents can reverse engineer the Tesla systems in order to make them fit in vehicles whose customers want to convert to EV.

They can even go the way the old Fisker Karma and Chevy Volt went and have the option of using ICEs as range extenders.

Just look at what upstart Edison Motors is doing for the work truck market. And some niche coach builders offer EV conversion options for the vehicles they restore.

Much like Edison Motors' old slogan was "Stealing Tesla's Ideas", some entrepreneur would take advantage of such parts availability, establish a market for them, and have a slogan like "Doing What Tesla Won't". And I'm giving it away.

@Did-I-offend-you

Iโ€™m so glad electric cars are good for the environment ๐Ÿ‘€

@coreythebludragon1986

With the sheer ammount of broken teslas I'm pretty sure if someone jailbroke enough, they could assemble several teslas from parts and have a pretty cheap fleet. If not just take a tesla and custom build their own vehicle using the chassis. Actually that could be a pretty good way to build an exclusive kind of vehicle, or assist a manufacturer in getting into the ev market.
A Lamborghini or such built on a tesla platform would be amazing, seeing as they are basically scrap but the parts and underlying tech should be intact

@rayp7135

In the next few years the salvage market will adjust as soon as the perceived value of the wrecked vehicles increases as the number of people that can either fix them or strip them into a more valuable commodity

@eondrache7786

I hope we get more places that will do ev conversions to put the batteries to use.

@justme-27

Can the battery be used for solar panel storage?

@jwolf8791

We are approaching the days where people will soon be battery swapping instead of engine swap
