the narration is one of the most calming voices i've ever heard, making every episode feel like a really strange mindfulness session where they are telling me about eels instead of letting go of thoughts. i absolutely use these videos as ecological meditation

@randomsleepyness

"It's like discovering a goth muppet in the ocean depths" LOL

@cuddlepaws4423

Sarah has a lovely voice for narration. It glides like honey, and my husband thinks she would be perfect to have a bedtime story read to him by her. So soothing and very well-matched with the gentle pace of the deep ocean.

@pluspiping

In an internet full of narrators talking (and editing) so quickly that there's no room between the end of one sentence and the beginning of another, a narrator with an easy calming pace like this is refreshing. There's room for both styles of narration, and I think this one was perfect for these deep sea eels. This fish nerd also got to learn some new facts about them, too! What a treat.

@sydposting

I love the original video of that eel in the thumbnail, by the EVNautilus crew. The reactions of the scientists in real-time is so wholesome.

@jamesonmoore1837

in a very calming, soothing, gentle, voice

@cerberaodollam

The "escaped punctuation mark" bit was so cute 😂

@milesprower8

"escaped puncuation mark" is such a good description

@timothyupham1475

I’m so happy to have a new voice to help me sleep at night. Love the content always, but her voice is an extra bonus after a really long and exhausting day.

@bbwfiona

I love the concept of this channel so so much. This is my favorite thing to watch before bed. Danielle's (I think?) voice is so calming and the video is so chill.. it's like being read a bedtime story about a really awesome alien planet. I would really enjoy watching more videos of this type, and thank yall for all of your hard work.

@Felisquoreda

"hey, you see those animals over there?"
"that long, noodley things? Yeah. What are those?"
"doesn't have a name yet, some kinds of fishes."
"I know what to name them: after birds!"

@darkwynggryph

It’s surreal to see these eels just going about their lives in the deep sea 😮

@ElbyHere

Just earlier this year I found out about gulper eels myself; was looking into weird deep sea life because I wanted to draw something weird for MerMay, and I instantly fell in love with those things, haha, they're amazing.

@MadamFoogie

Fascinating stuff. Eels are such strange creatures!
Also, gotta say, the narration reminds me of my hypnotherapist. I need a cup of coffee now. XD

@Safran282

The eels are, no doubt, super cool but honestly the most interesting piece of information in this video is the fact the snipes are a real bird

@justinmarino5601

“Goth Muppet”!!!! Lol

@crepusculeXstargazer

The snipe eel swimming through the dark blue reminded me of a great white Chinese dragon flying through the night sky.

@tangojuli209

Goth Muppet. Roll off the tongue score: 10/10

@feathero3

That's it, this thing will forever more be known as the Goth Muppet to me. 😸
