Another great video, as always. With PLC or DDC systems the 'early starting' is actually called optimized start/stop and there are typically unoccupied setpoints that will enable a heating/cooling system when temperatures get out of range, even when there is no one in the building

Great Video.

 I worked in a hospital and large Convention center with a full blown Siemens DDC system. They even adjust boiler water temperatures to keep them running longer at a lower temp to make the boiler more efficient. With VAV variable air volume controls and digital sensors it is amazing what can be done to save NRG. We also have residential high efficiency furnaces up to 98% efficient with ECM motors and variable firing rate burners now.
