As an IT Student who has to repair the Chromebooks at my school, I find this super disturbing and actually very annoying. I have a small amount of time to fix over 20 Chromebook a week and seeing that kids are now purposely destroying them is now my final straw. I've finally contacted school staff about it and they all taken action with me to reduce damages done to Chromebooks at my school. Please, don't do this.
“Why da school got out dated tech?” Students- Cause school cheap! *casually destroys nice things intelligent kids want*
Someone literally lit their Chromebook on fire in my school a few days ago 💀💀💀 TikTok is really getting out of hand
1:29 I am an A-student, and I made a Nuclear Fusion Design. How am I not creative? That person is a insult to humanity.
If F students are actually inventors, they wouldn't be destroying because they would know how hard it is to create.
''You got a bright future buddy.'' My ass.
"F students are inventors" call me thomas edison then
Imagine wasting a Chromebook that cost resources to make, and labor to build, just for it to get destroyed for some temporary TikTok trend.
Someone actually did this at my school and the fire department was called. The gym (where this happened) actually had smoke coming from it from this kid setting his cromebook on fire. Apparently the kid was arrested, but i’m not sure that’s just what I heard.
Parents really need to limit/monitor their kids’ activity on social media. It’s insane how many bad influences are on there. Also, seeing perfectly fine computers get destroyed for no good reason just infuriates me. I don’t care if it’s a Chromebook or not.
Some kid in my math class stuck a pencil in his chromebook and it burnt like most of his hand, I know you should never wish the worst on people but I consider this an exception.
Honestly it’s worse they are doing it with the nicer Chromebooks that have touch screens. My school only has those in half of the classes
If breaking your computer is a trend then I will fully lose faith in society.
TikTok should've stayed banned tbh.
As someone who uses a Chrome book for school every day, this trend is extremely disrespectful for the schools and other students! Yes, school laptops are shitty but be grateful that you got that laptop FOR FREE so that you can do your work!
I saw a kid absolutely destroy his new laptop (not a chromebook, it was windows) and blud's parents forced him to use a 2004 XP laptop as his main computer.
I worked in my school's technology help lab for about a year (Junior year of hs and senior year of hs). We obviously didn't get paid, but we had to deal with the most broken and horrendous Chromebooks. Some were shipped from the Junior High and the ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS that were nearby. Anyway, the school computer ones hurt me, since I know how hard it is to fix stuff like that. It's not even the kids' property, it's the school's!
Im an A student and I have fully designed a public transport system in my home city and fully scheduled it just as a passion project, pretty creative idk and im never gonna destroy my chromebook because i know the price of the chromebooks
normalizing crap like this is just bullshit. i have a classmate who gets mad and slams his chromebook shut, smacks the keyboard, and is PURPOSELY trying to break it. our technology department is already sweet enough to give us ONE free repair, meaning you fuck up the screen, they’ll give you it free. yes, some kids mature slower than others, but we’re almost done with the year, just because you’re an ‘f’ student and like racing, doesn’t excuse this.
