4:10 Increasing the activity of lipoprotein lipase enzyme (LPL) in the blood capillaries supplying the adipose tissue results in LOWERING serum triglycerides (TGs) .

This is achieved through the hydrolysis of the serum triglycerides present in the chylomicrons & the very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) to fatty acids & glycerol , then they are taken up by the adipose tissue to be re- esterified back to triglycerides & stored in the adipose tissue .

The net result is the shift of triglycerides (TGs) from blood towards the adipose tissue .

While the fatty acids reaching the liver will be directed towards the beta - oxidation pathway of fatty acids in the mitochondrial matrix - enhanced by the fibrates - to be broken down to generate acetyl coA ; instead of getting re- esterified back to triglycerides & released to the circulation in the form of very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) .
