Just found your updated video on this. Apparently, you covered the information pretty well. Honestly, keeping the same phone type with at least one parent and all the children is a must. Most families actually run a similar device across the entire household anyway. That's especially important. What do you decide to run an android device or an apple device. I would even recommend staying with the same brand whenever possible if you're going to run android devices. For example, If you have one Samsung device in the hands of a parent, all the kids should stay with the same brand. It helps management go much smoother.

To everyone commenting about not trusting your children or saying that the reason kids sneak out is because their parents are too strict: I was once a child with no restrictions. I got in trouble multiple times for sneaking out and having fun with my friends, and I misunderstood, thinking my parents didn’t love me. I became a mother at a young age.

Now that I have children, I understand the restrictions and frustrations my parents felt back then. One day, when you become a parent, you’ll realize why some parents lose trust in their children or feel the need to set limits. There’s a saying: what goes around comes around.

Also, this isn’t about not trusting our children; it’s about not being able to trust the world we live in now. There are predators on the internet, on the roads—predators everywhere. As parents who love our children deeply, we don’t want to take chances with their safety. If you choose not to set restrictions for your children, that’s your decision. My word to you is, “Good luck” raising your child with no limits.

@datonegirl9609

Every child is hating on her rn 😂

@OceanicGFX

Its the parents who don’t know the child is 100x ahead of them 😂

@timz9862

Can I lock app icons so that they cannot be moved or removed? I actually want to use parental controls to control my senior parents' iPhone. They keep accidentally removing apps from the dock and home screen.

@Nestos209

Parent hack: only give them a flip phone.

@hclandscapes

I have tried all of the above and nothing seems to stop YouTube and what’s app even though I have set specific time limits the apps do not stop working when the time limit is up. I have noticed that I’m not the only one who has this problem.

@sommerfugl011

Thank you for this super helpful video walk-through. Switching from Android to iPhone and everything is new.

@datsuntoyy

is there a way to just limit total time for the phone? I know how to limit the time frame and individual apps but maybe I just want to say "sure you can use the phone for 1 hour between 4 and 9 pm".

@Lunajay829

Thank you I feel like every parent would appreciate this information. ❤

@markrobertson3658

Thank you. This was very helpful. Very well explained.

@camcneiljr

This was very helpful. I have not bought the kid one yet but this makes it easier. Good information. Thanks.

@Robotic24

As a teen myself who loves cybersecurity this is kinda funny. For screen time there is actually a device management profile that turns off the screen time through a cool bug in iOS. Also, the kids can just jailbreak the device through side loading. I used chimera jailbreak a couple years ago. Also did you just leak your number and Apple ID?

@samirsang

Thank you for this! was wondering if there is a way to disable camera (i don't mean the camera app), basically access to camera from any app. is this possible? how?

@orenlevy8418

Hi Family Tech, thanks for this video!
I've just set up my 8 year old child to the parental control system and set up the app approval option. This works well with any app that is suitable for her age but with apps that are for older kids, like 12 year old, she can't even ask for permission, the app is automatically blocked, is there any way to overrule this restriction?

@jrojastko

So can this be done with an ipad? Or does it have to be an iPhone?

@ruffie8492

How to add a second parent to be able also control my child account..?

@nickb5091

Does these settings also apply to a MacBook or only an iOS device?

@RobinPlays2000

I'm watching this to figure out how to prevent it from being turned on...
