2:36 「灰になった手紙」は竹取物語に出てくる月に帰る際かぐや姫が帝に宛てて送った手紙のことかと思われる。この時不老不死の薬も一緒に送っていたが、「かぐや姫がいないのに不老不死などに意味があるだろうか」と帝は手紙を薬と共に燃やす訳である。 伝承によっては手紙を燃やすのに沢山の武士を山に登らせたからその山の名前をツワモノに富む山、富士山としたとか、未だにその煙が白く出ているとか
