180cc runner. Dutchies unlocked

@dcgarcia2001

I've had a 180 for over 10 years. Every time I ride it, it puts a smile on my face. Keep the rear brake caliper in place—if it moves, it'll hit the wheel and crack the engine case, trust me. If you're going to heavily tune that engine, you'll need a torsion arm. Vibrations are normal, even with new engine silentblocks—it's a 2-stroke Vespa engine! :) Once I installed a stiffer central one and it helped a bit. You've got a new subscriber; I'll stay on your channel to follow the progress. Greetings from Spain!

As I am Italian it’s heart filling to see someone over the Atlantic appreciate one of the most famous, if not the most iconic, scooter ever built in Italy.
I’ve been a proud owner for 15 years now, firstly with a 50cc that soon became what we use to call 50@180 and now owning a proper 180. These motors have lots of potential and heaps of aftermarket parts nowadays.

Get rid of that exhaust, that was one of the worst parts available back in the golden era 😂

@henkjeoma8069

Hell yeah Netherlands mentioned! I'm personally also more of a fan of the sm06 (stock exhaust) way quiter and unless you tune like crazy, which i think you are planning on, its really not that much less power and also easier to get the tune right.

@BaraPyro1337

Weird to see a runner in the US. They never introduced a high end factory scooter in the US like they did in Europe because the market don´t exist. Love to see an Aerox next!

@anhoniem

We staan er weer goed op jongens

@trooperwolfie

I bought my runner 180 sp in 2003 and still have it now.
The engine mounts can be replaced with pm tuning steel/nylon mounts to prevent sideways flex, but the engine will always bounce up and down at tickover due to the central rubber silent block.
For some time, I ran a ported original barrel with 25mm bhbl dellorto carb, polini large reed block, pm tuning foam air filter pod and a polini drive belt and it would sit at 90 mph all day at 3/4 throttle, but just rev harder if I opened the throttle fully. Oh, it also had a malossi hpc crank and scorpion expansion pipe.
I travelled from Batley in Yorkshire to Margate in 5 hours flat, when I did this trip on my old vespa it took me 10 hours lol.

@marcusaurelius9886

Loving this, takes me right back to my teens blasting about on my 125sp thinking I was the dogs bollocks 😂, In the UK we could ride the 125cc on a provisional licence, the Malossi 172 high compression kit was a very popular mod, it gave slighter better output than a 180 (which it will also fit). Best of all most kept the bike registered as a 125cc and kept the learner plates. So much tuning potential for these bikes, your exhaust is defo restrictive, standard one is actually very good, only expensive pipes like scorpion and polini will give any improvement. Can’t wait to see what you do to yours!

@Alistair-q4m

legendary bikes..... glad you are enjoying it so much, look forward to seeing the next video!!

@JeremyN.

Just wanted to say yeah I've been digging that thing since the first video. Two-stroke not Chinese is definitely the way to go. Honestly just commenting because I noticed you responding to people so maybe you responding to me. Keep up the good and fun and cool work bro!

@shargix

finally another runner video! getting my 125 runner soon!

@arekkoski

Happy for you for having it since it's rare in the US but sad thing is that the engine is a performance mess compared to the cylinder capacity, reeds are the same as 50cc piaggio engine and the transmission needs a lot of work and adapting other maxiscooter parts to get something good out of it

@privatebosma6533

Lets go!! NETHERLANDS !!!

@Bl.sporti

gotta love runners, as an italian it makes me so happy to see scooters in america

@MrJakers

pm tuning 360 exhaust sound great and look even better on theses

@krispyears2565

Put of all the people i watch you definitely deserve a runner can't wait to see what u got in store bro, if your struggle for parts over your way the uk has plenty good luck ❤

@Lee-hb9rx

Love these, had 2 and the Italjet dragster 180. I had a nasty accident on my old ZZR250 which damaged my siatic nerve and unable to use my left foot. Saw the Runner in the local bike shop and the 180cc sticker and had to have it. (I love 2 strokes) Mind blown watching it sail past 80mph. threw all tthePMTuning at it. Really regret letting it/them go. The Italjet Dragster looked awesome with that hub centre steering look, but could get mesmerised by watching the front spring between your feet, which is very dodgy at 80mph.

@2StrokeRoadRunner

Excited for this build & what’s to come bro !! 🔥🔥🔥
