This feels like a good hard mode ending, with every monster in the undergound (including Flowey) trying to kill you, explaining Asgore's trident attacks and Flowey's happyness pellets (bullets). Their goal isn't to leave anymore (or, in Floweys case, destroying the world and becoming god). It's to make sure you don't.
