Do you think the mustang or spitfire is more famous? I always felt like the spitfire was a little more well known but that might have been because i basically grew up in the raf museum in london. What are your thoughts?
Spitfire every time. From day 1 to the very end she was there. Or even BF109.
Great Video ..... ❤ your co-pilot
Depends where you’re from, P51 was always #1 when growing up in the USA.
You trim it because of the torque?
How about the Beaufighter?
What variant is this P-51?
The Supermarine Spitfire was the most important and famous aircraft ever built. Case Closed.
Kinda sad they got rid of the genius of the p-51D cockpit layout It was kinda perfectly designed IMO as far as the layout goes To each their own ig
I LOVE the P-51. But it wasn’t the most iconic. It didn’t do the fighting people think it did. It was successful because it was a long range plane. It could escort bombers for longer distances than most planes but it wasn’t great at air combat. The British Spitfire or German BF-109 was the best by far. Not to mention the ME-109 (Messerschmitt).
I hadn’t really thought of fighter planes not being set up for us lefties till she grabbed the stick 😂. I guess you can kinda reach that red button maybe.
Nah most iconic was either Spitfire, 109 or the P40, not the 51
It’s not the most iconic fighter of World War Two!
Corsair
Iconic, the new stupid buzz word...... :(
The stick is held in the right hand . Her first time .
Got to be the spit if it weren't for the merlin v12 you wouldn't have the p51d
P-51 mustang being called the most iconic fighter of WWII is such an American defaultist thing to say. Spitfire takes that spot by a country mile, even the Messerschmitt Bf 109 is more iconic than the P-51.
The T-28 was superior to the P-51.
