The phrase “One bad apple, can spoil the whole bunch.” seems to apply very heavily towards VTubers. Mainly due to the fact, that the abundance of weird ones that pop up, is a lot higher than the amount of chill ones. Which is why I feel bad for all the normal VTubers that are just doing their own thing, that sadly get lumped into the same category as the abnormal degenerates in the VTuber Community.

The thing with VTubers is that its usually the independent ones that are like this, and sometimes its just the fanbase thats cringe- VTubers who are linked to organisations or companies (like Mori Calliope or Kureiji Ollie who are part of Hololive EN/IN) are actually great, funny content creators. Obviously they'll still have weird fans in their streams or comments asking for explicit content- but their contracts legally restrict them from even replying to these comments most of the time...not that they'd actually want to make any weird crap anyway. Moral of the story: don't trust independent VTubers that much and don't let the fanbase ruin them either.

The only vtuber I really watch is Kenji. I'm actually a pretty big fan of him. Like many of us are saying, not all vtubers are bad. Just like, 50% of them.
