The YSR was the bike I wanted as a kid, but Im a few years older than you are. I now have an 89 YSR 50 thats pretty mint and I put on a larger carb from a DT100 and a DG pipe, new Wiseco piston and rings as well as racing compound tires. Tops out at 60mph on flat ground. So fun, gonna be a blast once I port the cylinder and raise the compression a bit, hoping for 70mph now that its geared for it.

Do like you normally will do. Get the parts, Get it fix, modified it, go 90 plus mph while you doing wheelie. Especially YSR 50.😊

I used to have one of those. Changed the oil on a guys riding lawnmower for it. I had no idea at the time what I had but I LOVED it lol

When I was in gr 9 some kid in gr 12 had the black and yellow YSR50 all stripped down and working on it in shop class. It was haggard but I remember him wanting to sell it to me for a couple hundred bucks....but I was just getting into mopeds and had no clue where to start with a mini motorcycle. Been wanting one since, just gotta wait to come across another one haha.

Lots of projects going on so Im guessing your not searching for one right now but have you considered Aprilia RS50? Atleast they are available in the US. It's a fun bike with lots of potential. As for the off-road scooter: swap the engine. That is my vote.

Boost bottles definitely do work it's just very difficult to tune for each individual engine, if anyone knows anything about resonation its Yamaha.

such a nice little 50. I had a nsr50. In Japan, you can still find them for relatively affordable. Lately they Americans have been very predatory taking pretty much everything, so they are getting more expensive.
