Thanks for taking the time to make this video! It's definitely helped me out
After 3 years of bad boy ownership, I can report the hour meter has broken, lost bolts out of the steering arm are hard to find replacements for, seat is breaking down slightly, servicing the transmission was not ideal sans resivour but belt replacement couldn't have been simpler. I'm overall satisfied considering the punishment it endures over 5 acres with steep ditches.
Our family has a Bad Boy Avenger and we’ve already had to have some repairs done. Definitely considering a Toro for our next mower!
Very thorough and informative review. That was awesome recruiting random test pilots.
This is the dilemma I had last year. Toro was my choice due to warranty, reputation, and dealer support. I even got to demo one for over a week. Bad Boy dealer would only let me drive around the lot.
Got the Toro Titan Max, two year model. No issues so far after 180 hours. Glad I got it.
God’s blessings to you and yours. Giving the lawnmower to Al Bladez was a beautiful gift. I subscribe to your channel bc you are a beautiful soul! May all your childrens dreams come true. I have seen my daughter live her dreams nothing is more fulfilling than to see your children, eyes sparkling, having reached their dream. Enjoy your lives, take care and thank you for all who benefit from your gift.peace be with you. Rock on!
Great comparison. You covered everything. Pros and cons and everything in between.
Appreciate going into the finer details. Thanks!
Thanks for the video comparison. Made my choice much more clearer.
Al sent me over to your channel. The Toro is amazing, what a great machine.
Love my bad boy zt elite paired with a Kawasaki no issues and that deck is beefy! Made in USA! That Toro is nice as well! Most important thing when buying a mower is the relationship with the dealer and their reputation! I will never buy a mower from a big box store no matter the brand; you’re just asking for trouble!
Toro is a better built mower but I’d probably go with the bad boy just for the rubber isolators. My property is rough so anything helps with the ride
That’s a 4 year old mower compared to a new Toro. Some of the things you pointed out are different in 2025. 2025 has changed quite a lot and better for Bad Boy
I'm gonna tell you on a few things. Why I chose the Maverick Bad boy over the Toro Max. 1 3200 Hydro gears 1 1/4 axle. 2 Can't be tractor supplies price. 3 rides Is like a cadillac with them Rubber. Isolators On the suspension parts.
I can see they are totally Toro biased. I, being a mechanic, love grease fittings, plus those fittings only needs a couple shots of grease during every service, or 50 hours, i like ease of service, the brake cables can be oiled very easily with penetrating oil at every service, the safety switch is in an easy location to replace if necessary, and honestly, i wish they did a side by side in actual time of how easy it is to change out the drive belt, and deck belt. I've worked on many mowers, and some are a breeze to service and replace belts, and I've done a complete service on a yellow mower, won't say the name, that was such a bear to change drive belt, I'd just as soon to have a root canal performed as to do that job again. I would also advise to which ever you choose to buy, buy it from a dealer and not a big box store. The dealer will go over everything you need to know, they will do all the warranty work if needed. Tractor supply employees can't answer all the questions you may have, nor do they service them or warranty work. If you needed warranty work done, you take it back, they then call a certified warranty repairman, he may fix on site, or load it up and carry to his shop, then bring it back, then the store will call you to come and pick it up. Quicker turn around time if you took it back to the dealer you bought from. That's just my 2 cents on that subject. Anyone else have thoughts about this?
That really was a great comparison video, between 2 very comparable mowers. The isolates in the rear is part of the independent suspension. I have an ‘18 Spartan SRT-Pro, & it has the independent rear “suspension” as well. The pivots are a little different, & uses rubber snubbers. Which Toro owns Spartan now.
Why are all you dealers Constantly pushing the Top of the line mowers? I would like to see the bad boy Avenger versus the equivalent in the Toro, in a 46" deck. Let's do mid-level. ones that people actually buy and can afford.
There's some good information in this, but remember, this is a video from a Toro dealer, so they want to steer you toward Toro. A lot of their concerns about Bad Boy are about what they think might be an issue over time with no actual data to back it up. With that said, I would certainly consider a Toro if my nearest dealer wasn't an hour away, but I have a Bad Boy dealer right here in my town, so ease of service is also an issue.
