The car looks awesome too!
My Model Y. drove me from Dallas to New Orleans and back over the Chrisymas Holodays. I only touched the wheel maybe a few times on the trip and they were more related to navigation at superchargers and restaurants along the way. It seems very safe . (That is stating something when driving in downtown New Orrleans). It even surprised me by actually backing into the su[ercharger all on its own; though it was a little offset up on the alignement. As a 50 year software engineer myself, I am very impressed with the overall accuracy and performance of this system. No matter what commute system one builds it will always have bugs. Lets be honest, even humans have trouble trying to figure out what a city. state, etc does to mark a roadway and direct traffic. The fact that you can follow along as FSD makes intelligent decisions, as we do, in such accurate ways is a great achievement for the Tesla team.
Gali playing Devils advocate is great. He thinks for himself. It’s nice to throw him in the mix.
Hans,💯! I, too, have an HW3 Model Y LR and yesterday it received v12.6.3. Wow! A major improvement! So much better over v12.5.x. Cheers, Eric
It is fascinating to hear how far reaching your perspective is in some areas and yet so limited in others. “Maybe Tesla will start the robo-taxi service in June using the 20 prototypes…”. Yet not a word on the possibility (probability) Tesla will start in June using production robots-taxis. The Tesla factories are all on pause as they upgrade the production lines for the updated Model Y. What a perfect opportunity to install whatever stations are required to produce the robo-taxi. The most spectacular start of robo-taxi service can only be achieved with hundreds of production vehicles!
Hans's beard is 100% AI. That's where he gets his power.
Love the Channel. 💪⚡️🇬🇧
Waymo will be toast even if Tesla launches with the same ride fares as Waymo because Tesla will have a lot larger metropolitan service area, faster response times, and faster travel times. When Tesla becomes ubiquitous in each city, customers will download the Tesla App and begin to use Tesla’s Robotaxi service exclusively because it’s a better product and better in car experience.
Your comment 11:22 saying Europe changes being slow. You all say Europe like it is 1 country. Every country has its own laws and many differences in driving rules. It is difficult to get an agreement for 24 different countries and governments. You guys in the USA don’t have an agreement per state and that is just 1 country one government.
just got 12.6.3 day before yesterday on a HW3 2021 model Y and have driven about 500 miles on it thus far. Pretty insane, especially on standard on the freeway in traffic. That said, one problem that I have yet to see them address: I use a hitch rack cargo carrier when I go on long multi-week camping trips. When that is attached, FSD still works, but perceives the cargo rack as a car that is tailgating it. In previous versions, you used to be able to turn on "minimal lane change" which would make stay in one lane. After v12.6, they removed the option to turn that on, and now FSD constantly drives evasively and squirrely while the cargo rack is on. Keeps changing lanes and tailgating other cars. It's annoying, but a very narrow corner case.
Im going to buy my own personal tesla cab . The price is about $17k . No cab licenses needed because it's my private not for hire cab. NO 2nd or 3rd party needed because the AI and cameras are superior to humans.
What will people want? Predicting the future is easy - as long as you do not have to say when Thank you, Farzad, for your service
About 36,164 motor vehicle crashes occurred (every day) in 2021 across the U.S. We need some critical thinking here. People are not perfect drivers. FSD will be safer than human drivers (soon).
FSD needs to recognize signs and markings on the road like (right turn arrow). I put 3k miles in the last 3 weeks on FSD. Exiting the parking lot was trying to turn left from right turn only, speeding thru construction, school zones 15mph signal ignored, etc.
Just remember regarding the teller operators. More than likely it won't be one operator per car. They won't be expecting that much trouble. It may be one teleoperator to 10 or 20 cars. So the cost won't be that much when the operators hourly wage is divided by the number of cars under their control.... Right?
Fascinating. As a first time viewer, it felt jarring to walk into the middle of the conversation. I had no idea Robotaxi would be coming out this year. I would like to see an introduction to the topic before diving into the details.
The crash was with xAI version 12 but the new xAI 13.2.8 is incredible. No need for steering wheel or pedals in the cybercab.😮
Great show!
Nice work, buddy.
