He was a legend in and out of the world of wrestling. I actually meet him backstage of WrestelMania III. My dad had snuck me in to meet him before his epic match against Hulk Hogan. He was just absolutely unbelievable to me. He said to me in not so great english "What is your name my friend?". After a second or two I replied. Andre said "Well it is wonderful to meet you my friend." He then leaned over to my dad and said in a heightened whisper "You better go now boss you can't be back here." My dad nodded and said "You got it and good luck to you sir." Andre smiled and waved us bye. If I live to be a hundred I will never forget that moment in my life. Truly amazing to me even to this day.

@FOXAMG63

He didn’t ask to be born a giant but he made the most of his precious time on the little blue planet. A kind soul. RIP

@bigjohn3928

He knew his time here on earth was limited, And he lived his life to the Fullest!! We were all lucky to be alive to witness his Greatness. .RIP Gentle Giant...

@cg0825

RIP Andre the Giant. I remember watching him when I was a little boy and he seemed always so humble and kind hearted --he found his true calling for his short life. Definitely a wrestling legend that won't be forgotten.

@CODYORMOE

I saw him once when I was a kid. My dad took us to see the WWF and Andre walked right by us on the way to the ring. He lived up to his name for sure.

@CashanovaXTREME

It’s sad how you can see his body breaking down in the later years, he was so stiff and moved awkwardly, but he still went out there for the love of his fans and craft.

@nicholaswagner5384

It’s really cool that people still talk about him and that shows you he will be remembered forever

@thomasskidmore27

I saw Andre wrestle in person once in Huntsville Alabama. I was around back of the civic center where the wrestlers entered. He walked by me nodded his head as I made his picture. We miss you big guy! RIP!!

@missjody4142

He was actually a big Teddy Bear and it wasn’t hard to hurt his feelings. He lived in constant pain. May he Rest In Peace.

@matthewgoodtimes3555

@Wildhare-uo5vj

It's been nearly 30 years since he passed and he is still a household name.

It'll still be a household name a century from now.

@billyjames7008

I wish Andre would've known what a world wide treasure he would be.

@darciejones7271

Was just talking with my husband about Andre "The Giant" a few days ago. He had such a reputation for being a gentle giant. Was heart-wrenching when he passed. He was amazing.

@dawnhandschy8111

He was the greatest wrestler ever. An absolute legend. R.I.P. Andre. You will always be missed.

@elliotmountainsheep1878

One of the greatest wrestlers ever. A lockeroom leader. And an even better human being. His HBO documentary bought me to tears. Thank you Andre!

@TeddGCM

I met him as a child. The sweetest, biggest heart ever. He loved kids and I was not scared of him at all. He put his hand on my shoulder, and it covered half my back.

@DesGardius-me7gf

“There will never be another Andre.”

—Hulk Hogan

@EM-tg4ft

This was a great biography of Andre. I used to love him when I was a child and I used to make my mom buy honey combs because Andre was in the commercial for it. Rest In Peace Andre, you will forever be missed, but the memories of you will never be forgotten.

@rtgseptis_2735

This reminds me of the quote that everyone has heard from The Sandlot, and I think Andre really embodied this: “There’s Heroes and there’s Legends; Heroes get remembered, but Legends never die. Follow your heart kid, you’ll never go wrong.”
