'Least American of the American Cardinals because of his quiet and humble ways'.......Nailed it!
I did catch flak from the American stereotype when I lived overseas 😂 I was told I was too quiet and polite to be a "real American"
And he's already put out a harsh condemnation of the Trump administration 😂
I'm not Catholic so it doesn't matter to me who they pick, but if the red hats hate him, that's a reason for me to like him.
He's not a typical US-American. He can find Italy on a map.
Desi Lydic is such a gem...
He spent most of his life outside the US, he lived in Peru for many years and holds a Peruvian passport. In his first public address, he spoke in Italian and Spanish but not English - he has a welcome global perspective. Pope Francis was the first Pope I had any respect for, hopefully Pope Leo XIV will be more like him than previous Popes
Most Americans are not known for their "quiet, humble" ways. 🤣
I once visited a Shaolin temple in China. People walking around talked in hushed voices of respect. Except for the American tourist. He was loud and annoying.
I was worried at first when an American pope was elected, but I was relieved when I learned more about him. He seems humble and has great faith. I find it hard to comprehend that around 40% of Americans reject the theory of evolution, largely due to their (Protestant) interpretation of the Bible.
He knows more words in more languages than the US can comprehend....😂😂😂😂
Desi you make me smile soooo much!
I love this lady.
DESI! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤣🤣💐💐💐💐💐YOU ARE THE BEST!
Desi gives the best side-eye I’ve ever seen.
As an American, I don't think I'd pick an American to lead anything right now given our immediate track record of leaders...
Yep. American tourists are loud😂
I'm from Chicago and I've been told that he's a White Sox fan. I'm still very proud of him
Cubs fan? Then yeah, he is definitely a cool dude!!. 😎 and yes Desi for an American you are definitely a humble lady.
