It has good bones. Like the B-52, it is a weapons platform. It has the power, size and lift to allow upgrading. You can put state of the art weaponry on an aging but competent platform and make it competitive against modern threats.

The towed decoys are highly sophisticated devices that should make a difference. I don’t know if tbe F-15 gets the same capabilities that the F-35 has with its multiple decoys that are controlled by its super powerful computer, but if it is even close it is game changer.

Undisputed champion the F-15 eagle has never lost a dog fight and never shot down by a sam or surface to air missiles. Still, I'll love the tomcat better but the F-15 is true warrior under the F-22 of course.but personally the F-22 and F-35 has yet to prove itself just like the F-15 eagle did, seen combat at three different conflicts with no loses under it's belt.
