Yeah, but really the airlines, resorts, and rental car companies all lobbied to stop their profit losses from people taking the ferry with their own vehicles instead of paying crazy money to fly, rent a car, and stay somewhere. It’s also why they banned AirBnB at least on Oahu
This video saved him a ton of time.
It's more like lobbyists for the airlines don't want ships.
As someone who used to live on Maui, I can assure you, the Big Island did NOT keep the coqui frogs from spreading. Good thing I found them soothing 😊😴😊
If they were concerned about the environment, they gotta start with the cargo ships that come in there that take the same routes the ferries took and are much larger than the ferries were. It wasn't environmental. It was greed from other large companies (airlines) that wanted to keep their customers.
Nah, Hawaii just loves their monopolies. Airlines, rental car companies, hotels, shipping barges were all losing money.
That argument is weird. Just use boats that don't transport cars, problem solved.
It's Hawaii. Nothing gets done here, that's the real reason, incompetence
like my family who lives there, Hawaii operates like a 3rd world country....and this among other things prove it. Corruption, nepotism and corporate interests kill whatever modernization and development this island needs.
What about the cargo ships that dock there everyday? International ships too. This "green" bullshi is so obvious its insane. Its like they think were monkeys.
there are entire books written about why the ferry was opposed. many important reasons not just this. maybe read some before u assume
I took a helicopter and landed at Jurassic park waterfall (only one company has charter). We had to wear protective booties when we landed. Great time.
Coqui are already on Maui and Ulex are there as well. It's not just the Big Island.
Don’t forget humans as the #1 most invasive species on earth.
And here i thought it was the jones act
The real answer, according to the locals, is the airline industry. Like actually.
How about cargo ships?
Pov people that named the island when they found out that the big island is 207 times smaller than the biggest island👌
Coqui frogs and fire ants have been on all the islands for quite a while now.
