Yeah, but really the airlines, resorts, and rental car companies all lobbied to stop their profit losses from people taking the ferry with their own vehicles instead of paying crazy money to fly, rent a car, and stay somewhere. It’s also why they banned AirBnB at least on Oahu

As someone who used to live on Maui, I can assure you, the Big Island did NOT keep the coqui frogs from spreading. Good thing I found them soothing 😊😴😊

If they were concerned about the environment, they gotta start with the cargo ships that come in there that take the same routes the ferries took and are much larger than the ferries were. It wasn't environmental. It was greed from other large companies (airlines) that wanted to keep their customers.

like my family who lives there, Hawaii operates like a 3rd world country....and this among other things prove it. Corruption, nepotism and corporate interests kill whatever modernization and development this island needs.

I took a helicopter and landed at Jurassic park waterfall (only one company has charter). We had to wear protective booties when we landed. Great time.
