I'm new to welding and have just received the MP200 a week ago. I wish I had seen this before I set mine up. The machine is fairly intuitive but I still managed to get a few things wrong like putting the wrong roller wheel on for flux core and forgetting to change the polarity for same. This caused a lot of spatter and problems with the wire feed (easy mistake to make should have RTFM). This video was very informative and well made - Thank you - also the bit about swapping the plug on the air filter - I didn't know you could do that.
Thank you so much. I've looked at this welder. And after your GREAT explain, I will be getting it.
Great work. You need more upvotes. I'm normally overly annoyed by long videos but you packed a TON of info in there that was worth it. And I spent an hour trying to find details on the hose connections that nobody else showed.
Thank you so much for this video. I got mine a few days ago, and as a complete newbie, this helps immensely. I will check the second video you posted about this welder too. Have a great day.
Interesting, I had the same box open up on mine with the same loose parts. Thanks for the video!
Greaty video and the detail you went through is very helpful for people. I just wanted to update you incase you haven't heard, but I just received my MP200 and my welding chart that came with it is updated from yours. For the polarity settings, MIG = + to Center, FCAW = - to Center, TIG = - to Center, MMA = + to Center, and Plasma = + to Center. Just wanted to let you know about the updated setup sheets that came from YesWelder.
Thank you so much for this video.
Great video man. Just got mine yesterday so made me happy to see a guide video out already. Now I just have to figure out why it is popping the breaker when trying to use on 110 outlet, have tried two different outlets on different breakers now. First one popped on contact, the second one I was actually able to get a pool going for a second before it popped…. Not sure if it’s the machine, something I set up wrong, or my breakers suck….leaning on the latter as Ive popped those breakers if I have two space heaters on the same breaker.
Mine will plasma cut but a can not get it to arc with mig or flux core
Just received mine this week. The plug on my air filter seems soldered in & not removable. Anyone else's like this?
Did you get instructions with your welder? Are there any online?
Need to have ac/dc tig with pedal and spool gun then it would be the ultimate diy machine.
I appreciate the video. I've not gotten past the beginning stages you've gone into Overkill on the explanations. People that buy a welder like that hopefully have enough brains to follow the instructions to put it together get us to the basics of understanding how it works with differences between Mig and Tig about the tungsten rods and filler rod with the tungsten and the critical need for argon gas to do tungsten so you don't burn up your tungsten rods. Also the difference in CO2 mixed with argon gas. All we need about that water oil separator is a few little flags heads up about the direction and the unpackaging just too much time on it again thanks for the video but we're not in kindergarten.
My package came completely wet with big damages to the box, the box was partially open. Scratches, broken clear plastic lid, the machine is wet with water inside! What should I do? I understood delays, but completely don't understand the quality of the packing and water inside!
Does anyone know if this is a ac or dc machine? Didn’t seen it in the description.. I want to get into tig and I am hoping this is in dc.
Does anyone know how to remove the mig drive gear so I can put in the Flux core drive gear? I saw him just pull it out, but mine will not come out. I tried to depress the key hole section, but it just won't come out.
What is the correct amount of air pressure to be supplied for Plasma setup?
I didn't see it in the video, and haven't been able to figure it out, what were the 2 black o-rings in the bag with the hose/hose clamps/kickstarters, supposed to go on?
Just got mine in. Having trouble using the plasma cutter on a 110 outlet. Hooked up to air compressor and can see a spark, but no ignition. Anyone else?
