I believe it actually was Kate Bush, whose team created the first ever headset mic so she could dance while performing her first Tour Of Life. And if you don't know who she is, look it up, you won't regret it

@whatever6796

Kate Bush did it first in 1979 and Janet had been doing it since 1987...

@Sarnold1814

After Kate, Janet made it popular with her Control video in 86 and her Grammy performance in 87.

@Inyourlap

Kate Bush did it first in 1979 in a rudimentary way : her team created a headset with a wire hanger because she was one of the first to dance and sing at the same time during the whole show (apart from when she was at the piano). The Tour of Life is a milestone in modern concerts and included magic, miming, reading poems and a lot of dance routines.

@edwincordon3141

Janet Jackson used it in the 80's. Someone needs to fact check and watch Janet's "Control" video.

@NickSBailey

"Kate Bush is regarded as the first artist to have had a headset with a wireless microphone built for use in music. For her Tour of Life in 1979"

@FirecreekEntertainment

kate bush wore it in 1979. Janet Jackson wore a headset in 1986 for the control video. bobby brown in 1989. and eventually Madonna wore her's for the blond ambition tour so there for she wasn't the first artist to use it

@hiphopboy29

Madonna's mic headset was great for all her dance numbers in the 90s but it caused her a great deal of tech issues. Later on in tours past year 2000 she just stuck too the hand held mic and worked the choreography with it.

@zafnatpaneaj4992

Madonna did it first..!πŸ‘‘πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ❀️🀩πŸ₯°πŸ˜πŸ’«βœ¨

@nora912

@thomaschilders8382

LIES it was Kate Bush!

@Mjjhistoryarchives

but the question is what microphone she used for the tour

@theautistic.teacher

The one and only Queen of Pop!!!

@sel3248

Madonna  made it iconic

@JurongStrangler

This video needs to be taken down for inaccurate information

@werdlederdle

Kate Bush used one on tour 11 years before. Like everyone else has said.

@johnnyquest3707

I saw Neil Young use one in 1978.

@enmΓΌlk

Wasn't there a person who wuthered through heights with her sound engineer to make that mic or am I delusional?

@JB-pl1iu

Goddess!!!!!

@danlightfoot6592

Kate Bush did it before Madonna.
