SCP 173 actually is friendly if not treated like garbage. In scp 6001 avalon, on a parallel earth where scps are treated with repsect and have rights, scp 173 is in an art gallery. It is viewed nonstop by the public for 23 hours, and at midnight when unobserved it chooses a new pose for the next day. All it wants it to be seen and appreciated, but our SCP foundation keeps it in a box living in its own filth, so it is violent. Obviously there are multiple canons, but scp 6001 is my favorite entry and i highly recommend it, it made me cry.

The most terrifying implication is that even if you escape the containment room as soon as the door closing breaks your line of sight it can and will get you. Cleaning the room will no longer be possible due to its original habit of breaking all automatic cleaning systems used upon its cell. A possible countermeasure to test would be a monitoring screen to allow constant viewing of the subject as the room seals.
