Hurricanes are more destructive than tornadoes on wider path and reach. Tornadoes just come out of nowhere compared to the Hurricane which is tracked and has many more hours or days in preventing deaths due to the warnings in advance. Tornadoes maybe if you are lucky have half an hour warning.
