When liquids evaporate it takes energy and cools down the surrounding. Thats how ACs work. Refrigerants flow to the evaporator then evaporates taking away energy in ur room in the process so i dont see how water evaporating in the pot cools down the water and even if so you said how a wet cloth slows down the evaporation so doesnt that just lessens the rate of cooling instead of increasing it?
