If you don't want to learn git commands, I've been using lazygit for 2 years already and it's really good, it's a terminal user interface for git that not only allows you to do the basic things but can also do a lot of rebase magic and allows stuff like editing commits and fixing shitty commits that would be a nightmare to fix with the normal git CLI

Nice! For staging, committing, and pushing changes I usually just use the source control buttons in vs code, no git commands needed!

Best thing about git: You can backup any file, not just code. I use it before making destructive edits assets when modding games or making my own.
