Holy moly it's happened! My two favorite automotive channels found each other.. so good.
Retired engineer here. The higher cost of parts worries me the most. Plus, vehicles should be designed to simplify repair.
SavageGeese inspired me to choose an old Lexus instead of a modern iPad car, and The Car Care Nut helps me keep it running. Thanks to both of these powerhouses.
Jack is correct. People want features. They get caught up in the buying excitement. Then, one year later, or less, the repairs start (new tires, brakes). Those 22" wheels are cool until new tires cost $1500.
The costs are absolutely prohibitive. As a middle class earner, I won't spend $1,000 a month on a new car payment. That's insane.
Traded my problematic 2020 m340i for a 2023 Camry. I miss the performance but not the headaches. Sometimes, the greatest luxury is reliability.
The two greatest channels for people who are actually shopping for cars, no nonsense reviews. Thanks for the great work.
Savagegeese reviewed my 2016 Corolla and called it a appliance that gets you from point a to point b.Well it has 150,000 miles on it and still has original brakes, air conditioning still works good,no dash rattles and has only been in the shop once for a Toyota recall to update a software glitch many years ago.
Everything Ahmed says in his videos is so spot on when it comes to the reality of the consumer experience. His thoughts always hit the nail on the head and I’m so grateful that he is making videos that reach across all generations of car owners.
Missed a hugely important point. People’s wages have not increased at the rate of inflation. This means yes cars are more now than they were. Affordability is the point. What company pumps out products without trying to factor in affordability?
You guys should have a monthly discussion. This was a great watch!
I would absolutely kill for a simple awd, manual 6speed, crossover size , wo the tech. Manual roll up window's, no screens, no cvt, only luxury i want is AC
This was a legitimately interesting, no BS, no monsense conversation. Thank you for taking the time to speak to the viewer, not at them. The car industry is fascinating, and I enjoy the discussion on the business side of the business, not just the latest and greatest features. Keep up the great work!
Money is worth less than before. We all know that.. the income is still the same thats the problem.
The problem with financing a $60 or 70K car for 84 months is that at 48 months, many of those cars won't be worth what is still owed on them.
Speaking of expensive car repair. I have a 2024 Genesis GV70 2.5T Sport Prestige. Two months into ownership, the 3D digital gauge cluster went on the fritz. It was replaced under warranty. I signed the repair bill, and it was over $12,800! The part itself was over $8K, and labor was just over $4K. I usually keep my car for 10 years or longer, but this is really giving me pause to whether or not to jump ship once the full warranty is up.
What a lovely, respectful community this is. God bless you all❤
An incredible conversation between honest and knowledgeable people who truly know cars and the industry. No hyperbole but rather measured discussion is welcomed by this viewer. Between the Geese and CCN an entire documentary could and should be produced. Well done.
having too many options causes unhappiness. I'd rather have super-simple, but very high quality. the "bling" quickly wears off, but true quality is something you learn to appreciate more as time goes by. the more stuff you own, the more it owns you.
