Marcus, maybe the reason they were putting tiles on ship 20 was to test a new adhesive? If the adhesive is bad, they wouldn't want to damage a ship they were still planning to use.

Regarding the addition of heat shield tiles to ship 20, it could have been done for training purposes. The ship is out of the way and if the trainees mess up installation, there's no real damage done.

I love Stoke Aerospace and their little capsule. Their development philosophy and general attitude speak really well of them. Plus they seem to be making great progress! I could totally see their capsule being used one day to deliver cargo to mars on really fast trajectory's with more extreme aerobraking maneuvers since in theory their craft should be able to take more punishment from the atmosphere than starship!
