The history of money is easily researched. What I've found hilarious is the concept of banks. If someone told a fledgling society, "Hey, I've got a great idea! First, everybody give me your money." He'd be run out of town. Yet that's what the vast majority of people do every day. Direct deposit, that's nice. Anyone with the most elementary understanding of economics knows you can use money to make money, the simplest through the money multiplier. And we continue to give them our money so that they can make more from it without producing a shred of societal benefit. The financial system in the U.S. is designed to pay you less than what your efforts deserve, then take advantage of what money you have left when you deposit in a bank. And why is the United States of America indebted to the tune of trillions of dollars to private banks who are corporations? Research the foundation and history of what's called the federal reserve, and how corporations are protected under law. Scary stuff, but at least you'll know.

Also.. the 2008 Obummer bail out money was used to buy smaller banks. I remember one wall street banker getting a $30m bonus. And at the same time they told GM and Chrysler to sell their private jets.
