Sachin was dawdling against a demoralized attack on a flat wicket. It was important to have time on your side to take 10 wickets. Now Sachin having played 130 test by then did not need to be told that India will declaring anytime so he had to play attacking. Rahul Dravid did what was in the best interest of team to win against the arch rival. Personal glories can wait.

Rahul Dravid's declaration was unnecessary and could have been handled better. Sachin was well set and could have accelerated if given the signal earlier. Declaring when a senior player is in the 190s, especially when there was still time left in the game, was harsh and demoralizing. A few more overs wouldn’t have made a difference to the result, but they would have shown respect to a player who had given everything for the team. Winning is important, but so is man-management and trust among teammates.

Not correct.. but theek hai nhi socha hoga .... maybe he felt ki fall of a wicket will slowdown sachin. But still he should have waited for the 200. Anyways toh the stature of Sachin back then .. another 200 would not have made him any bigger of a legend. So regardless of the intention with which dravid declared... he should not be bashed so much. Maybe if it was a debutant, an emerging player or a star in a making the 200 would have made a mammoth difference. But sachin already was Sachin during this century. Maybe we can take it easy on the wall
