Been watching Shawn’s labor for years. To watch him sitting in warm comfort, at a table of his making, building arrows , makes me happy for him. I hope he has many more years of successful hunting, and warm comfort in this stunning home, this life, with his own hands, he’s built.

@catspaw3815

What a fantastic oasis of sanity this channel is from the nutty world we live in today. Thanks Shawn

I just really wanted to tell you how much I appreciate all the content you share. My dad was an outdoorsman. He was a carpenter by trade and his passions included hunting, fishing, hiking, the cabin, and being alone in nature. He passed that passion down to his son and 7 daughters. We lost him this past year...there will be no more venison brisket for Christmas anymore. Your videos remind me so much of him. He was a self made man who knew every Latin name of every tree. I just wanted to say thank you. I look forward to your post every week. Your craftsmanship and self reliance is so inspirational and highly respected.

A year ago, you were placing logs and your stove was sitting in ice, snow and sawdust. You were making the best living arrangement possible, in the workshop and spending a night or two, in the greenhouse. Now, you have a very comfortable home for you, your family and Cali. BRAVO! Stay warm and safe.

@moekaranouh694

I honestly can't get tired or bored watching Shawn's videos. Cali is always a valuable add-on

@rayc.8555

As a 70 year old man who lives alone in the mountains in a large cabin. I can relate to this. I wouldn't trade the lifestyle for anything. Thanks for doing this.

@jasonallen1532

Those were the most magnificent hamburgers I have ever seen. Can't decide what I like better... watching you cook or watching you build.

@LCJCFAMILY

WOW a businessman to a woodsman off grid, what talents you were given, much love and continued success with your journey and blessings to your beautiful wife and children. My husband passed away about 3.5 yrs ago it seems like yesterday he was taken so fast, he couldn't build me a house but there was so much he could do that i am reminded of those things everyday as i try my best with 2 boys trying to live on this farm we moved to 2 yrs before he passed, we were going to grow our own food and raise our own animals etc, doing this alone is not easy. I'm sure your family hold you in such a high regard as well, God Speed to you as things get crazier and crazier in this world. kisses to beautiful companion, i have 2 Shepards and they are a comfort.

@ellebelle8515

I love the way Shawn's standard of excellence extends to every part of life, including his cooking, which can make us all very hungry. 😁

All your films they deserve to be watched

Now that's a real fireplace. !!

Thank you for these longer videos. I can watch them for hours. The half hour format is just too short for me. My dad would have enjoyed them too. He was an avid hunter/fisherman/canoeist/archer of the wonderful Adirondack Mountains of New York. In 1952ish, he went on a bow hunting safari in the then French Equatorial area in Africa along with the world famous Fred Bear. He taught me how to shoot, fish, hunt and love the outdoor life. I'm 78 now and still have his Stevens .22 bolt action rifle, among many other items of his. I know if he hadn't met my mom, he would be up there too, doing just what you are, but she was a city gal, so he had to split his time up accordingly. Lol
I ended up building an oak framed post & beam cottage in the Southern Tier of the Adirondacks on a quiet road of woods and fields. A good place to finish my time on earth. Peace and happiness to you and your family.

Wow, the brick flooring is a beautiful touch.

@haroldfoust

Have been waiting all week for another great venture in the wilderness🐕🦌🐿🦃

@Mike-iv3hy

There's something about the forest in the
winter I Love !
  So calm and serene!
  The birds chirping
and foraging !
  I noticed the home made cheddar, and recognized it immediately !
  You were flipping
it to age it, and wiping the mold off it .
  You missed a spot
on the rim !😁
  It's March now .
  Spring is just around the corner.
 Soon the land will
spring to life again
    Mike.

This was a great video. I don't know what I enjoyed more. All of your healthy cooking, your crafting and building, or seeing that beautiful doggie, Cali. She sure is a sweetheart. Just a great video to watch while being at home watching the pouring down rain. God bless.
