"You never gave a warning sign," "I gave so many signs." Gives me shivers ever single time.
"You never gave a warning sign" "I gave so many signs" This is why we always need communication when we're in a relationship. So instead of having too much pride, you should both try to understand and reach each other out before it's too late.
Just finished "you" season 3 and this song will never feel the same ever 😭😭😭
I just love, love, love when duets are written like a conversation, does that make any sense? Idk. I just really love this song.
This whole album sounds the old books in a forgotten library started singing their stories out loud to people who can't come to take them anymore.
"You're not my homeland anymore, so who am I defending now?" Man, this is so deep. Your partner is your home. And in a home, you will find comfort, love, family, support and care. Defend this home if you want it to last forever. If you don't want anyone to live in your homeland (your girl or man) aside from you, defend it and protect it. You will never find a home like him/her again.
My daughter is a huge Swiftie and this is my favorite song. We flew 10 hours and 5,000 miles to go to The Eras Tour and I will never forget the first notes hitting during the surprise songs. I couldn't believe it was real, looked at her to see the biggest smile ever, and then the tears came. Core memory.
"The best" song of Folklore... just pure class and magic.
The contrast between 'you never gave a warning sign' and 'I gave so many signs' tore my heart open 💔
The whole album is a lyrical masterpiece.
This song is a masterclass in songwriting and composition. So many high level elements that make this a generational duet, but I’ll hone in on one specific element. All throughout the back half of the song, everytime he says “cause you never gave a warning sign,” Taylor responds “I gave so many signs”…except, the final time. This is a thematic reflection of the man (Justin) being the one living with regret, after the fact and the woman (Taylor) moving on with her life. Up until that point their vocals were always stacked together on that part, but in the end it was Justin all alone. When she attempted to course correct, he “couldn’t” see the signs, but now that she has washed her hands clean with him and their relationship, she has said and done all that she needed to, and has nothing more to say. This leaves Justin at the end of the track, alone, having to pick up the pieces, while Taylor has moved on knowing she did the best she could, while they were together. This deeply thoughtful and intentional songwriting and composition is why Taylor has separated herself from so many of her peers and why her fan base is so deeply and intimately connected to her. When the work is intentional, the people can feel it.
Bon iver's voice is deeper than Atlantis
exile have won the grammy of our hearts. and that's what actually matter.
Folklore is that album you want to listen to with your headphones on in your bedroom smelling the aroma of your cup of hot brewed coffee, wrapped in your favorite blanket, staring at your window watching the pouring rain and being emotional while reminiscing the lost love you never had.
Brilliant in every way... we sing this around the house constantly......
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TAYLOR SWIFT SONGS EVER WRITTEN. Her best collab so far.
I never in my wildest dreams imagined that she would collaborate with Bon Iver 🥺😭 THEY SOUND SO MAGICAL. I HOPE THEY PERFORM THIS AT THE GRAMMY'S
