On their own website they say the are a designated contract market (“DCM”), registered with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”). It's gambiling, but instead of the outcome of dice or a deck of cards, it's with real life events. Its not all legal. Afaik you cant bet on the election if you are american. Also cant speak for kalshi but polymarket currently has 1 french national whos been pumping the trump odds using leverage
