@gabrielback5615

Wow, Id like to be able to jump onboard the EV train, but theres no way I'm paying that price for a truck.

@bvon336

Steve in terms of getting used to one pedal driving let me tell you as a guy who spends most of his time in a peterbilt dump truck the one pedal driving in my lightning was a quick learn since the pete has the good ol jake break. Pretty much the same experience. Love the lighting (pro model) test drove the work truck chevy and it was nice but the lighting has Soooo many more accessories etc since it's basically an f150 still. The GMC looks cool but man $$

@MrThewhip333

On our locomotives we had dynamic braking which put resistance to the traction motors going downhill instead of dragging train brakes and wearing out , overheating brakes. It was progressive so you could apply more or less resistance to control train. It however shedded the heat out of the dynamic braking grids was not regenerative as there was no large battery pack to put anything into. Works really well and makes a cool wwwwaaaaaas sound when in full dynamic, you had to be careful of buff forces with all the train pushing into the head end especially on curves you could push rail out and derail. This is where distributed power helped with locomotives also in middle or end of train to mitigate buff and draft force as well as getting air to braking system on a cold Canadian winter day.

5:10 & 17:15 it seems an obvious advantage to have the charging port in the same location as the Tesla's so that GMC customers can easily back in and charge at the 1000s of Tesla Superchargers. What % of the time is towing vs % of the time not-towing? 95+% not towing? Also pulling straight in if the port was passenger side front would leave the trailer more than likely blocking a lane.

@stevemiro731

dream truck for me but I will have to buy mine on the used market in a few years.

@dad2817

Nice those 9 people who bought one will enjoy the vid

@Ronn-p3r

Can't afford an EV..but I did get two electric scooters last month

@andrewsharman4419

Great review as ever Steve. Best vehicle reviews on the internet!

@vijayvis

@truck King Great review and interview. Probably the best review I have seen on EV truck towing. I see the tongue weight listed as 1000lbs in your video at 18 min 42 sec. I also noticed the payload is 1450 lbs, but the specs everywhere say 1350lbs. The payload is significantly lower than other EV trucks. Once you add the driver and two passengers, you will barely be able to put anything else in the truck. Wondering if you see the payload capacity of only 1350-1450 lbs as an issue for this truck.

@rxibot

I absolutely love towing with my lightning and it's awesome that they're getting so much better at running the electric vehicles.

@nlken7175

I be surprised if GMC sells over a thousand of theses in Canada next year.

@james2042

When they release a generator hybrid for sub 60k usd I'll be interested. Until then these look cool sitting on the dealer lots. My local chevy dealer has 9 silverado evs, all with 10k off the hood and they're still not moving

@dmitrydk92

Gerryrigeverything drained silverado ev to 0% and got 230 kw used. This battery is probably around 240 kw 😮

@Alb3rn-

Great review and shared sentiment regarding towing with an EV.

I disagree and think that the left-rear is the best placement for the charge port because backing-in allows for:
- greater safety due to better visibility
- getting out of dodge quicker in case of an emergency (the Japanese are taught to back into parking spaces)
- looks cooler when parked
- when charging cable and post location means better accessibility and people not having to manage the cable to avoid trips / potential falls
- at commercial locations, it supports back-in policies

Pull-through chargers here and are scaling, so I see towing with an EV to not be an issue.

@SuperiorLawncare32

I don’t like how close mine drives to the yellow line I would prefer it to be closer to the white line

@davejones67

You need to drive up some of our mountains out west

@RobertoHernandez-cx4yt

I love this new gmc modern truck. But that needs to be with engine or half half not just electric buy itself

@alittleofthisnthat5665

Good video and you would get better range in an ev or gas if you didn't go full throttle merging on the highway empty or with a load just a pro tip as that truck can do way better than. 1.1 kwh

@ALMX5DP

lol at the center infotainment being buggy during the review.

@moth450

Its a gm product. You know the rear steering will go out first
