I don't usually read books, but one of the books I really love and actually got a physical copy of is "deep learning with Python by Francois Chollet" in which the second edition actually talks about some fairly recent stuff.
I recommend the "grokking" series in Manning Publications like Grokking Machine Learning
Bet he didn't even read 10 pages any of those books, they look super new...even the smell might be there
