FSR4 being AMD's first foray into ML up-scaling and delivering such quality is honestly super impressive.
For anyone considering switching to AMD, you can use DLSS Enabler, and it will allow you to swap out DLSS for FSR (different versions), and XESS, Plus enable FG, use Anti-Lag 2 in place of Reflex, and you get a nice OSD to make changes while in game (Optiscaler). AMD's OSD, and side panel in their Adrenaline driver is really good too. Another nice thing is it allows you to override upscaling quality factors on the fly, so you can get way more fine grain, if you want to extract as much as possible. Especially if you frame cap.
FSR4 being better than the DLSS3 CNN model is impressive considering the transformer model was not out when they were working on it. As far as value comparisons go though it's hard because in a review you're comparing MSRP vs MSRP, but in the CURRENT market MSRP is not really a thing to the final customer. Let's see how the stock situation plays out. At least AMD is now actually competitive in terms of image quality and RT, which is exactly what they needed to stay relevant.
I really wish they would have produced those rendered GPUs - they look so nice. Simple and understated.
Its apparent that the RX 9070 XT is clocked past it's efficiency curve to give the best bang for buck at the expense of power draw.
If only the non XT was a bit cheaper... This would've been such a clear, big win for AMD.
I used to work in merchandising for a big tech retailer in the US, so I would regularly have to correspond with distribution. I still have some friends that work in distribution at that same company. AMD made a lot of 9070 and 9070 XTs. But that doesn't mean they won't sell out, since there's not much GPU supply from anyone at the moment and that demand will need to be satiated by something. So if you're even slightly interested, you might want to jump on this early tomorrow.
AMD just have to deliever cards so people can buy them, and that they don't melt in your PC, and they are way ahead of Nvidia lol
Nvidia 5070ti is selling for 1200 on ebay and some models up to 1500 dollars. God people are so stupid. AND you got people buying a 12GB 5070 for 900 dollars!! on ebay. Do these people have any sort of intelligence? 12gb of vram for a 900 dollars gpu in 2025 is insane!!
I love Steve and I love Jays reviews but this review for the 9070 series was my favorite. Only 4 GPUs shown. The ones that are competing with each other. Nice and clean. I like it.
2 in one day. Thank you for all your work Rich, it's appreciated for us people stalking the midnight launch. o7.
First time in a while you guys actually post two videos on the same day!
Good news for us on Linux.
I think something people are missing is the non XT performance is higher than the core and clockspeed would suggest. 10-15% different and you still have 16gb. I would say get the XT if you can but if you can only get non XT just do it. 220w is sipping power.
Great new regarding FSR4. DLSS has been such a game changer. It’s good to see AMD being competitive.
Not gonna lie, i'll keep my 3080ti for one more generation...BUT if i was to buy a card the 9070XT would be it.
In order of importance for most people: Performance per dollar On the shelf price Availability at advertised price Power efficiency Winning on 3 out of 4 metrics I'd say.
well its a no brainer then. I'll get the xt if it comes out at a reasonable price
I'd like the 9070 non XT for 499, it'd be about the same price as the ps5 in my country and it'd be great
