I hold 2 black belts and been training in a variety of martial arts since the age of 13 and I am now 58. His teaching techniques are spot on. However, in slow motion everything works when it comes to defending an attack (any attack). This is NOT the case at full speed unless you are going against some drunk or someone who really has no idea what they are doing at all. I can almost guarantee you are going to get hit at least once and as long as you can take the hit then you can most likely take the offender out afterwards. When I train and teach students, I teach them real life scenarios. Not slow motion punch at me, kick at me, BS. I was also in law enforcement for nearly a decade and taught many police agencies here in Texas.
Very good theory lesson. But in real life, I prefer Indiana Jones safe method: just one revolver bullet shot and all problems will be solved in just one hit! =)
That is a good move. You can tell that confidence is attached with sacrifice, that is, beating the speed of the attacker by timed step is associated with the absorption of part the second strike which leaves the attacker vulnerable. I mentioned confidence and sacrifice because you don't know the skills of the attacker, but you must, if in a compulsory situation, defend yourself or be a victim. Practice is the key, bearing in mind that you must NEVER underestimate any attacker.
While fighting things comes so much differently than your training sessions
I taught weapons combat for 20 years. This man is correct. It is refreshing to see actual defense.
I tried this with my friend now I am watching this from hospital ๐
Number 1 BIG SALUTE INDIAN COMMANDOS
Right then am going commando from now on. Absolutely love this.
Awesome! footwork to get off-line of strike captures elbow and disarms levering weapon against thumb. Very experienced instructor with timing and confidence.
Hahaha in training you all give the instruction, and formula but in reality it may not come on that way๐๐
The guy should take up golf as he has a really nice top of the backswing position nice flat left wrist and trail elbow tucked in the only recommendation I would make is donโt get to flat or you will struggle with trajectory on your long irons.๐
This is a very good technique. Loved it. Well explained.
One thing i only learned that is "speed determines the winner"
In real life, both hug each other โค
I am a girl aspiring to join Iaf very soon Your videos came in recommendation glad to have it. โฃ๏ธ
the only part you need to catch in this video is the "perfect steps" from 0:58! that simple step-out and step-in made every skill possible ^________^ Keep your balance, keep your readiness, control the distance. Respect!
to do all this, you need to be physically fit and fast.. so a lot of regular practise is required.. it won't work if you learn a few techniques, then drink, eat and sleep for months together
I appreciate videos like this that are straight to point. .and aren't 5 minutes of someone trying to sell me something before the actual video
I had this happen to me in a street fight years ago . Several people in a car pulled up by me in front of my house and said I threw a beer bottle at them ( which I did not ). The other guy had a hockey stick and jumped out of the car . Right after he swung the second time , I stepped in towards him and took a less forcefull hit on my left arm , as I hit him hard in the ribs . He buckled over and his friends helped him back into their car and then they drove off .
