#Hurricane #Fiona made landfall in #puertorico as a strengthening category 1 hurricane in September of 2022 bringing recorded wind gusts over 100mph to the city of Ponce and along the SW coast. Fiona caused an island wide power outage and areas of Puerto Rico received rainfall measured in feet causing extensive #flooding #landslides and #mudslides. Fiona then went on to become the first major hurricane of the #2022 season after hitting #dominicanrepublic and then slamming into #canada with one of the lowest recorded pressures to hit the country.
