Let's Make a Chain of Words, Segmented Phonics Version by Jack Hartmann is a phonemic awareness activity. Jack starts with a word, and then changes one letter to create another word. In this chain of words. Jack segments and then blends the words each time he changes the letter in the chain. Jack starts with a word and then changes the initial consonant, then changes the medial sound, the next time he changes the ending sound and lastly, he changes the initial sound again all to create a Chain of Words. Look for our other Chain of Words videos that are not segmented for more of a challenge to this skill.

Change t to g, /b//u//g/ bug
/b//u//g/ bug
Change b to m, /m//u//g/ mug
/m//u//g/ mug
