Are you using #ITIL as your holy book?

You shouldn't.

Yes, IT frameworks such as ITIL offer helpful guidelines if you're looking to improve your IT processes.

But they aren't the answer to everything.

Remember: ITIL, like any other ITSM framework, is a means to an end – not the goal in itself. Before committing to it 100%, ask yourself: what are you trying to achieve? And will ITIL help you with that?

If the answer is yes: great.

If not: either adapt ITIL to meet the specific needs and requirements of your organization or look for other best practices that will help your IT department reach its goals.
