Commonwealth v. Karen Read - LIVE WATCH - Motions in Limine Day 2 - Attorney Analysis
I wasn't even sure what to call today's hearing since Tuesday's hearing ended abruptly and early after the defense moved orally to continue the trial, and a written motion has now been filed to start on April 25th in which the Commonwealth concurs. But, since we're still officially on for the second day of motions in limine, and since it seems likely they'll continue to argue motions in limine even if they do continue the trial since it isn't for a very long period, we're just sticking with the original plan.
After Tuesday's hearing, we still have 16 motions in limine to argue, plus four new motions that came in afterwards challenging experts and asking (by the Commonwealth) for a buffer zone excluding protesters, not to mention still no ruling on the defense motion to dismiss for extraordinary government misconduct. Oh yeah, and ex-Trooper Proctor finally got terminated for misconduct relating to the investigation of the case, seriously compromising him as a witness for the prosecution.
This one could really go any direction.
