In this video we visit the town of Amedi – a real gem perched on top of a tiny plateau in the north of Iraqi Kurdistan near the Turkish border.

For centuries Amedi has been an example of different religions living peacefully side by side, with Christian, Muslim and formally Jewish communities calling Amedi their home.

Although it’s only 1000 meters long by 550 meters wide, human settlements date back to at least 3000 BC.
