A major storm has impacted southern Texas including the townships of Alice, Driscoll and regional areas including Petronila & Tierra Grande prior to moving towards Corpus Christi on the evening of the 8 May, 2025.

At least one home was destroyed and many others damaged as the severe storm moved over the Region. Hurricane force winds were recorded during the event.
