TYPICAL CERAMIC APEX SEAL FAILURE

This is A Typical of ceramic apex seals.
After seeing this happen in over 100 sets, supplied to the competent end users and ALL of them having suffered 'random' failures as shown graphically in this video.
No turbo, no over rev, no misfire, just one fucked product that is 100% going to cause you the same pain as everyone else has gone through.
Pottery shattering ceramics along with Mazda cast iron apex seals are way too fragile to be used inside engines, they are always going to fail 'at random' however this is not really true, there is NOTHING random about it!
There is very little toughness in these products, along with this they have inclusions and imperfections that are weak spots, many orders lower in strength than the 'paper claim' of a perfect sample spec mule in a lab. So out in the real world these products fail after undergoing a few cycles at moderate loads. Remember this is in an ideal case, in hard environments like heavily turbocharged or limited engines undergoing ignition cuts you can measure the life of these products in seconds rather than minutes like in this video.
You can make a mistake and go the other way and have a very tough apex seal that gets twisted like dog shit as soon as any heat is applied to it in a normal car, and or is so mother fucking soft it wears out in quick time! there is no shortage of hobby shack attempts........
